Lodoni Feast Day a Hit!

WHAT a finale to an already amazing week of the RKS Centennial Anniversary celebrations!

The Lodoni Feast Day on Sep 14 at the National Gymnasium in Suva was a resounding success, setting a new standard for how high school reunions should be staged in Fiji.

Affordable and accessible at $50 per ticket, the venue’s capacity was fully utilised by the crowd of scholars, family members, supporters and fans that turned up.

Indeed, the Lodoni Feast Day was a one-of-a-kind experience - a feast of the senses, with the venue transformed into an impressive space that celebrated the successes of Lodoni men over the years.

There was a Hall of Fame walkway featuring notable alumni members, and on the main floor, four Bures for each RKS House - Cakau, Degei, Ma’afu and Ratu Sukuna - flanked the imposing stage set up in the middle of the gymnasium.

The program featured four of Fiji’s top entertainment bands - Voqa ni Toba Koula kei Tavua, Paradise Rootz, VT1S and Voqa ni Delaidokidoki, with the opening of the event starting on a high with the imposing beats of the National Youth Marching Band.

Food, drinks and kava flowed throughout the afternoon and well into the night and there was even a BBQ stand and farewell drinks waiting for the crowd by the gate as they left at the end of the evening.

It was a fitting way to end the social part of the RKS Centennial Anniversary celebrations. Vinaka vakalevu Lodoni!
